Through watercolor and ink I use landscapes and familiar objects symbols to evoke core memories and the feelings attached to them. My work is rooted in the idea that certain places, moments and objects can hold a sense of nostalgia and bring us back to a specific time in our lives.

Makenzie Kurz (b. 1991 Fredericksburg, Virginia) received a B.F.A. in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA in 2016 and holds a A.A.S. degree from Virginia Western Community College. Kurz’ watercolor paintings interpret the connection between, memory, place and emotion. She has exhibited internationally in Lacoste, France and nationally in Savannah, Georgia. Recognized in student exhibitions and local news station as an Up and coming Artist. Now residing in Charleston, South Carolina.
